worm@crackden.orgThis is
flatvurm's poker blog. It is the blog of a fledgling, but serious, poker player starting out on the road to greatness. Or mediocrity.
With this blog, I hope to not only catalog (and share) my successes and failures, but also to leave thoughts and lessons for myself to read later and, hopefully, spark some discussions among other poker enthusiasts so that we can all better our games.
For a time, I used a letter-grade system to try and track how my game was progressing and how my profits were faring. I don't think this turned out to be very useful, so then started keeping to the more prosaic game analysis and using BB/hr for profit tracking. Less fun, more informative. Since migrating from limit to no-limit hold 'em, though, I've settled on dealing with session statistics a lot less.
Many of these posts will be marked with fake timestamps (generally 23:59, except for tournament recaps, which will generally be timestamped with their tournament times). This is mainly to ease my own record-keeping, and to facilitate relating various posts to various days and/or games. In this blog, it is more important to me to be able to see when I actually thought something, and not when I thought to post it.
I have discontinued my own (pathetic) poker dictionary. If you're still lost in the slang, I recommend The Official Dictionary of Poker.
What's the story with the icon? Well...this. With a thanks to
aplacental for pointing it out.
The practical stuff: My game is primarily Texas Hold 'em. I started out as a limit player and have shifted more toward no-limit. I dabble in other kinds of poker, but rarely play them seriously. I play low limits. I'm centered in Atlantic City, and play mostly at the Tropicana.
